Medical Field?

Can I be in the medical and criminal justice field at the same time?

  • So, My major is biology and im a sophomore in college starting this fall. I wanted to be a pediatrician, but now i think i want to become a Physicians Assistant. After watching Law and Order and Common Law i feel like i want to be in the criminal justice field also, but i do not want to change my major because i really like the medical field and have already tooken the chem 1 and chem 2 classes and will be taking organic chemistry in the fall. Is there anyway i can graduate with a biology degree while going to graduate school and work both in the medical field and criminal justice field together??? Basically i want to know if there is a career out there that is based on the medical and criminal justice field?

  • Answer:

Are you asking if you can be a doctor and a lawyer? Sure, if you have the time to do both and are willing to do the education for both, I know of no laws that prohibit you from doing so. I used to work with an MD, PhD, Jd attorney. He did a ton of medical patent work. He was a practicing attorney and did not practice medicine. I've heard of MD/JDs that get into medical law, like malpractice, insurance, or even repping pharma companies and hospitals.
