Why are Swiffy files incapable of sound on iPads?

Computer geniuses please help me. i converted my mpeg files to wmv files and now there is no sound?

i am trying to use my mpeg files for windows movie maker, but that format will not work in that program for some reason, but my existing wmv files will. so i converted my mpeg files to wmv files and now there is no audio. i used prism video converter. please help, i really need to figure this out because im trying to make my husband his first fathers day present.
