How hard is C++ programming?

How long do you think it will take me to learn objective C programming language?

  • Yeah, I really badly want to make me some iPhone apps. However, i need to learn objective C and maybe C (not objective, just plain C). I do really want to do this, but I'm just wondering how long do you reckon it may take me?? I'm bored and have about 3 more months off for summer, but then I will be going MWF.. Can you give me any idea of how long it should take to make some nice iPhone apps that i can publish to the App Store. Like a new web browser for the iPhone, for example.. I see some other people that made some nice ones, but sometimes ideas just hit me and i know people would enjoy them (whether i sell them or give them free on the App Store). Im not really a money guy, so i might just do it for fun or not idk.. Anyways, with all i need to learn to make iPhone programs, which i believe is just objective C (though im probably inaccurate or shallow) along with learning the SDK or whatever, (not sure what sdk is but ill learn lol), how long do you think it should take me.. Im a noob to programming even though im 19 lol. Anyways, thanks in advance, and happy graduation.

    Many people overlook this, but I would highly recommend looking into taking a C/C++ course at your local community college (people of all ages will be there). Anyone can. Some even offer iPhone Dev courses, too. Also, many textbooks out there as well. Barnes and Noble has a good search engine. Just make sure to get one that has an abundant number of reviews w/ positive comments. Hope this helps!

The old joke goes you never have a problem mastering the language you don't know. It's mastering the language you know that takes years. Figure a few hours to learn the simplest stuff, and about two weeks to be able to do enough to decide on and build an app.

Depends on how many hours a day you put in and how discouraged you get. Spend enough time and you should be able to slap out some "ok" apps in three months.
