I have a problem after connecting PS3 to another TV.

Ps3 to tv hdmi cables problem?

  • I have no idea whats wrong with my Ps3 or tv, my old ps3 burnt out, it was a 1st gen so i bought a new one. Well i connect the ps3 into the phillips tv which supports 1080p but it keeps telling me that it is a unsupported signal. Funny thing is the xbox 360 works with 1080p on the same tv with the same hdmi cable. i connected the ps3 to my LG tv and it reads 1080i, the tv i believe doesn't have 1080p but it reads all the other 480p 720p 1080i I tried on the phillips tv using the reset video by holding on the ps3 reset button for 5 seconds but it doesn't detect. Tried unplugging the tv for about a minute and plugging it back in and still no luck. It reads standard AV but not the hdmi... I tried 2 other hdmi cables i have and still no luck. Im guessing it might be something to do with the handshake between the ps3 and the tv. Any help would be appreciated at this point im totally lost and would dearly like some help.

  • Answer:

do you still have the ps3's av cables? connect those to the tv and set the ps3's visual settings on the XMB to hdmi itll give you an option.
