What should I go to college for?

Does it matter what college you go to?

• I have always pondered this question in my mind. Does it really matter what college you go to? I understand that a college with good similarities would match up with better education but for instance. There is a college that is a decent normal middle state college that most people go to. All my friends are going there when they graduate. There is an issue though, I heard it has a terrible computer science program. Then I heard about another college. This college is 1/2 the cost, it's somewhat run down or low budget but it has a good computer science program there. Would getting a degree at the first college be better or worse than the second one in said major. This is career sake, if someone from a big company wanted to hire me would it matter what college I went to, or would it matter what degree I was in from that college?

  Some people are going to tell you yes, but I personally don‘t think it matters. Okay if you go to some po-dunk online school that no one knows about, yeah it might matter. But if you go to a reputable school with high accreditation and people know of it, I don’t see a problem. I want to a state school and I don’t regret it. I graduated with no student loans, and landed a job right out of college. What it comes down to is networking and who you know. That’s how most people get their jobs. I knew someone in the company I work for now and I went against 100’s of applicants with master’s degrees, tons of experience, and more prestigious degrees. I landed the job because I networked and I put myself out there. Networking is where the moneys at.
