Where's a good place for 17 year olds to work?

• I'm gonna be finishing high school this June, and I'm pretty much dead set on getting a temporary job since I really don't feel like going to University this fall. Where's a good place for teenagers to work (like an actual job, not some oddball jobs like doing surveys). Anything besides fast food joints.

  What you may want to consider is looking at your local mall. Working in department stores, or other stores, especially at the mall, may be some great work experience without the fast food type environment. Another thing to consider, if you are still interested in food services, is maybe at a restaurant, which can provide a much cleaner working environment. Plus if you get the right position, and if you desire, they may be willing to be flexible when school starts so that you can work part time during school, or they may let you come back during the holidays or other times of the year when they need more workers. The fact that you worked there already make it nice because they would not have to retrain you! The mall should have an office department where you can submit an application for all companies at the mall, unless they require you to apply to each one individually. But it is a good place to start because there are so many companies there that you are bound to find some that may be looking. Another place to look may be at shopping areas with multiple storefronts; places like OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
