Can you be a medical assistant with a nursing degree?

I currently have an Associate degree in medical assistant can i get an bachelors degree in Nursing?

  • Answer:

Yes, you can get any degree you want. Of course, most of the MA coursework may not transfer or count for anything on your path to become a RN/BSN... but it will provide you with some medical skills that your other classmates may not have.

I've never heard of a medical assistant to BSN bridge program. You can apply and go through a full BSN program, but it'll involve students who have no previous medical training. The school may take credits from your associate degree like composition, any sciences, and maths.

You start this from scratch. It is highly unlike that any of your MA courses will transfer unless you took them through a college. Community college course do actually transfer.
