What is a good audition song for Guys and Dolls?

Which of these would make a good audition song for Guys and Dolls?

  • I recently found out that a theater group nearby is putting on Guys and Dolls this summer. I have never seen this musical so I'm not sure what would be good to audition with. The auditions are pretty soon so I can't really learn a new song. Songs from musicals I know fairly well are: Part of Your World - The Little Mermaid Far From The Home I Love - Fiddler on the Roof Much More - The Fantasticks If you think none of these would be good please let me know. Thanks!

    Geez, those are the top used, most stereotypical audition songs. Add Barbara Streissand and Wicked and you'll have the set! Try something lesser known from musicals like "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" or "Shy" from "Once Upon a Mattress" is a good one. If I must choose from your all to familiar list though, "Much More".

If you have a fairly strong singing voice, I would go with 'Part of your World'. It's a song most people know, and if they don't, they've heard it somewhere before. (: If you do the song with your own flair, it will showcase your singing.
