How do I get over my fear of shots?

  • I have a REALLY bad fear of shots. I was supposed to get on last year, but I chickened out and said I'd take it next year. The next time, I chickened out AGAIN. Now I HAVE to take it next year. My fear is bad, I start sweating and crying and I get light-headed and faint. After I faint, I vomit. but I do realize that it's nothing to worry about. I've had shots before but my body just reacts differently. PLEASE HELP!

    I'm the same as you. I'm terrified of needless. I got a tattoo and it seemed to make it better. It doesn't hurt like an immunization shot, or even blood work. It hurts differently. after I got my first tattoo I was able to get blood work done, and my regular shots. I just have to remember to tell the nurse to not let me see the needle, or tell me when s/he is going to put it in. Just look away, and take a deep breath before hand.
