Dish network remote not working for receiver?

Why won't my Dish Network remote work?

  • My dish network remote won't work for the TV, it works for everything else, the satelite, vcr, dvd, all of them except the TV. It won't turn it on and off, or do the volume, but when I push the TV button a note comes up saying "Attention Mode Reminder, Your remote is now set to control your TV/VCR/DVD player. Press the 'SAT' key on your remote control when you want to control your satellite receiver" But it doesn't do anything else. I've tried to press and hold the TV button until it lights up, then hit the power button and scan up and down until it finds a code that it matches with, but I sat down for literally an HOUR and nothing worked. Is my remote or tv screwed up? Should I try calling Dish Network? This is getting annoying to have to manually turn up the volume. Please help me! Nothing is working! and I'm getting VERY annoyed. Thanks in advance

    Hi Jen, I am sorry you are having a problem with remote working the TV. Did it just recently stop working or has it never worked for the TV? Who is the manufacturer of your Television? What is the model number of the remote (Please check the back top of the remote)? Was the remote set up to work with a surround sound previously? I would say it is the remote but I say call Dish they should help you.

id suggest you just keep randomly pressing and holding various buttons until it starts working like its supposed to ! defiantly DO NOT press the SAT button like the screen says ! and avoid your owners manual at all costs, if you wanted to read something you wouldn't have gotten satellite service in the first place ! Also turn the volume all the way up and leave it, Im betting there are others in your household who would also enjoy hearing anything but your voice
