How exactly do HYIP's work?

  • I want to invest in some HYIP's but am still weary as to how exactly they pay out. I understand its basically all a scam and the trick is to get in early but with a reliable source. Its very risky, I understand. My questions is, why an HYIP offers an investment say 104% in 1 day (24hrs) Does that mean if I were to invest say $200 for that 1 day @ 104%, I would get my initial $200 investment back PLUS 104% ($208)? Meaning I would invest an initial $200 and within one day have the option of withdrawing $408 to my Liberty Reserve account? Why do people invest so little? Out of caution? I always see people getting payments of $6.00, $8.92, $1.32, $28.00, etc.. I just am not understanding the whole thing I suppose. Can someone dumb it down for me a bit?

    HYIP = FRAUD. It's just a new version of a Ponzi scheme. You are understanding perfectly because it makes zero sense. No one with half a brain would ever fall for such an obvious scam.
