Do I need a converter for this headset?

Ps3 usb headset?????!?!?

• I bought a yapster computer gaming headset that's not usb or bluetooth but i.got a converter for the 2 3.5mm wires which converts them.to one usb wire which i can then plug in to the ps3. when i.play cod i can hear the players but i.can't hear the game sounds. i need help.on.how to listen to the game sounds

  Only dedicated stereo headsets for ps3 can let you listen to game audio , a regular usb headset works the same as bluetooth , chat only . You'll need a different headset if game sounds are important , it must be either a Sony wireless stereo ps3 headset , tritton stereo wired headset , or turtle beach wired stereo headset . the sony one uses a usb dongle and special software the ps3 firmware has , the others use multiple cables , usb for chat and a splitter that connects between the ps3's a/v cables audio output cables and the headset/TV A regular usb headset provides ONLY chat sounds same as bluetooth does .
