How you play PS2 games on the PS3?

How do i play ps2 games on my ps3 Slim?1?!?

  • k, so i got my ps3 and realized that it cant play ps2 games. so i went online and found out that there is something on the PlayStation store called PS2 System Data, and supposedly when you have this you can play ps2 games....well... LIES!! it doesn't work, i put the games in, and i just says Unsupported data. i even looked at the info just before you download it and it says that it doesn't work for CECHH models. so i looked at my ps3 model, and it isn't CECHH. so the bedrock of my question is "why can't i play ps2 games on my ps3 slim?!?!?!?!?"

    You can't. Sony decided to take backwards compatibility out of the console. Sorry, bud.

i had the same problem. but that system data things only works for the older versions of the ps3. they took the backwards compatability out of the slims. yoour only hope is to hope they put your Favorite games on the psn. or keep your ps2.
