My pc dvd player doesn't work?

Connect dvd player to pc problem?

I deleted everything and installed win 7 on my pc but now when i put my yellow wire from dvd player to yellow port at back and open capturing software it doesnt find the device. Ive installed my graphics software this used to work before Hp pavillon a1532n Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE
