How to make a birthday card on the computer for free?

How can I make my desktop computer recognize my graphic card?

  • I just bought a desktop computer from my friend. We have used it at his place many times, and when I checked the computers Performance Information, it said 5,9. I then checked to see what made the score 5,9. It was the graphic card. But anyways, when i bought it, my friend also gave me all the driver cd's and the Windows home premium cd so I could reformat the entire thing, and set it back to factory condition. When I had run the backup cd for windows, I started Windows normally. But, when I noticed that the computer pretty much sucked at performance, I checked around and after awhile i stumbled over the experience **** again ( performance information). Now, it was only 1,0 (!!!) . This is the lowest score possible, and so i checked to see what it said about the graphics card, and, apparantly, there is no graphics card. I kinda panicked, so I took off the side panel on my computer and assured that the graphics card was there, and yes it was. But, my problem is, that the computer won't recognize it. I have tried to run the setup cd's with all the drivers and all, and when I insert the ATI graphics cd, it installs ATI graphics super performance **** etc. etc,,, When I check system information it says Graphic Card: Not Available (you are still able to use the most basic graphics and monitors). IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN MAKE MY COMPUTER RECOGNIZE THE GRAPHICS CARD!

  • Answer:

Download drivers for your model from manufacturer web site or AMD.com. Windows update also can recognize it. P.S. Do not forget to install all drivers available for your Mother Board - they are also required to make you Video card available for the OS.

You're graphics card is clearly present otherwise you would be able to see anything, but it is running with a default video driver because something isn't installed yet that the real driver needs to activate. Make sure that you have installed all of the drivers both for your video card but also for your motherboard chipset. Also run windows update and make sure you have all of the latest service packs and patches installed. Most important is to remember to install the latest version of Direct X. Some video cards won't activate full functionality without a minimum level Direct X installed.
