I don't know what your classmates are doing, but I was a teacher at similar school camps for several years, and I saw kids bring all kinds of luggage--everything from suitcases to garbage bags. Kids in the same class would bring everything... one might have a really nice travel case, while another might have a huge duffel, and another might be dragging everything in a garbage bag. The only thing the various kinds of luggage had in common was that they were too heavy for most of the kids to carry. After seeing my students struggle with their luggage, the best advice I can give is not to bring anything you can't carry yourself. Make sure you have everything you need, and if you can fit it into one suitcase or one bag, great--but above all, make sure you can carry it. Also, keep in mind that you'll have just a small space to store it--probably under your bed--and you need it to fit.
