Why does my iPod sync but say there are no songs?

IPOD HELP! SONGS DELETED!?

  • I just bought a laptop. I have an ipod touch with 3,000 songs. My original itunes is on my parents computer back home, 12 hours away. When I plugged my ipod in, it asked if I wanted to sync the songs from my laptops itunes library to my ipod, I click no, as it had no songs. My ipod started to say backing up and then syncing. When it was finsihed, my songs weren't on the library and my ipod songs were completely erased! how can I get my songs back!?

    anyway dont sync with another pc anymore. just to say what are you going to do with 3000 songs? you dont even listen it all. so dont worry about an unimportant thing. i am sure u backed up ur device before.

This has happened to me a bunch of times. You can only sync an Ipod to one computer because if you sync it to another one you will lose everything as you have found out. The only way I've known to get your songs back is to go and buy them again. Or what I usually do is send the songs from one persons email to yours and then itll download to your computer and you can click and drag them to Itunes and put it on your Ipod.
