Can a physician assistant work part time?

Is it possible to be a physician's assistant and interior designer at the same time?

• I am planning to get a master's degree to become a physician's assistant full time, and then go back to school and earn a bachelor's in interior design. I am just wondering if it's possible to work full time as a physician's assistant and be a freelance interior designer at the same time. I would like to receive reliable answers only so please be considerate of my request. Thanks in advance.

  I am actually both-I was a PA for many many years and went back and did ID. I will tell you, I could not work in ID school-the work load was too much-the projects were insane. Now I separate them-PA in the summer & the rest of the year ID because I could not do both together-the time commitment to do ID is too much and too erratic. I suggest you focus on one for a few years and then see. I can do PA part time because I have decades of experience, so people are willing to work with me. That may not be the case with some one inexperienced. ID requires you to respond the problems that arise, contractor issues, deliveries etc almost as a need now basis-which would not be possible if you were on a PA job. So again, I highly suggest do one, get good at it and then try the second. If you try to do both, more than likely you will not be good at either.
