How can you make a t-shirt design?

Is it illegal to forge a design of something with the r in a circle?

  • is it illegal to forge/make a replica of, for example, a tshirt design with the "reserved trademark" sign aka r in the circle? but not for sale in the market, just for yourself? I wanted to bring a tshirt (not available in my country) design to this store to have them print it on to a plain tshirt, but the design has a 'registered trademark' mark on it, therefore is it illegal for me to bring it to the store to have it printed/replicated?

    If you mean that you have made up a design out of your own head and want to add a trademark sign to it to make it appear like a real company logo I know of no reason that would be a problem especially as you say you are making only one shirt for your own personal use.

The store might have some reservations about it. however, it's a trademark sign, not a copyright. So legally you are okay as long as you aren't trying to profit from the copy. The R in a circle just means you can't use the icon in question to identify some product of yours.
