Need help about Salon Assistant Job...worked at 2 previously....?

  • okay so i'm in beauty school. i'm doing Cosmetology. i've been there since september and will have jut about 500hrs completed out of 1,000. so far i've had 2 jobs at hair salons but the problem is... i need to find another one and don't know what to put on my resume. the reason for this is because, at my first job at the salon, i was there for a month untill i quit....i was working 8-9 hours a day and then go start to school for 4&1/2hrs cause i took night classes...monday-thursday 5:30pm - 10pm... and i worked early in the mornings for 3days a week sometimes 4days a week and she paid me NO MORE than $80....no matter how many extra days i worked. it was BULLSH*T. and she was too passive aggressive with me and just rude. i was not happy there so i QUIT. i was getting paid so shitty and it was 40min away, i didn't make good enough tips to pay for my gas so there was no point. i didnt quit professionally though...i just woke up early the morning i had work and i didnt wanna do it anymore i was miserable there..i did everything for her, i was her personal assistant and receptionist and cleaned everything meanwhile she sat down at her station watching t.v eating food making a mess, telling me to clean something i already cleaned cause she wanted to see my worked every second... i even had to clean HER own station when she would sit there and eat and make a mess. so i texted her and said "i'm sorry but i'm going to have to withdraw from my position at the salon." and she said "youre not very mature and responsible. goodluck." ........ i didn't quit professionally i will admit but she didnt pay me good and treated me like **** so what did she expect? and the place was really slow.. i worked hard though even thought i was never busy i was always on my feet doing something... so i didnt put her down on my resume that i worked there because she would've sabataged me and bashed me for quitting....but i got another job recently at this really popular salon thats ALWASY busy and they needed help so i worked for a week and the owner barely got a chance to train me at all. shes so busy and crams everyone in so she felt really bad about not giving me any time at all... i was supposed to fill out paperwork for the bank account and everything but she never got a chance to give me the papers cause theres so many clients and she has no time. it was good experience and i was only there for 1week and she called me and she said she's going to need to find another person to work there with a lot more experience and she was really nice to me and felt really bad and told me she wanted to train me herself but she has no time. she's booked for weeks.. she things its unfair to me and things i'm overwhelmed, which sometimes i am cause i've never worked in a busy salon like that and i do things right when she tells me what to do, but she needs someone who has worked in a salon before for a long time and knows what to do... when i met her in the interview she new i never worked before(i told her i didnt cause my old job would've sabataged me) and she was totally fine with me not having experience because she wanted to "mold" me and teach me and train me herself. but she never got the time to. i'm the 1st person they've hired to help cause they just opened up 6months ago so she probably didnt think it would be this hard...... so now i'm on the hunt for a new job. and job's like people who have had previous experience. the problem is, i don't know what to put. my 1st old job will bash me most definitly, and my 2nd old job wont bash me but i only worked there for a week...and i can't put on a resume that i worked someone for a week...it'll look bad and they'll ask me what happened and it wont look good. AFKLSDJF;ALSDJF sorry. i wrote so much, who ever is reading this, i'm sorry if your brain hurts. i wouldn't blame you. i need HELP. what should i do? btw i'm a very fast learner if someone gives me instructions and proper training... i catch on very quick and give great shampoos and keep the place real tidy. hair styling is my passion so i love the salon atmosphere...i just don't know what to do! i've worked a 2 previous salons and now i feel like i can't put that on my resume. and it sucks. UGHHHHHHHH :(

  • Answer:

Sheesh, I'm tired now. Having a shaky employment history is kinda like having a shaky credit history. Sometimes it's best to start fresh. These kinds of businesses have crappy reputations generally speaking and they pay horribly and expect the moon. They fire you like it's a bodily function. Just move forward from here.
