Gaming pc build (budget) starter?
-
I just recently enrolled in some computer classes and I want to know alot about the systems and builds and repairs. So I needed to get a decent pc to do schooling. My hobby on the side is pc gaming. I grew up playing the old blizzard games and classic fps games etc. I was recently playing Combat Arms on a piece of crap e machine, and had to install a graphics card to play it, so it ran fine. Now days theres so many more games and require a lot more in the pc to run them. games such as MW3 Black Ops Diablo3 and more... so the pc i have is a gaming case nxzt nemesis, and I was wanting some pointers on the build. right now all I have in it is like standard crap, i have a 250 watt power supply, 250gb hard drive, intel motherboard (but it looks a lil more recent cus it has alot of newer plugins, such as i have 4 sticks of ram in it but im only getting 2gb in total) so i would like to identify my motherboard incase i need to change it out... so theres no graphics card. basically motherboard, hard drive, 2gb ram, and 3 fans is all thats in there... Windows 7 home premium 64 bit, I used my sticker from my old pc that crashed... I just could really use some tips and pointers on where to start or what to buy first for my budget gaming pc, i was hoping to keep whats useful, so my budget doesnt get to much higher then 400-500. Answer:
Well, If you are really tight on budget then i can tell you exact what you need to hear. Well first thing is your smps is useless here, sell that off on ebay. you haven't mentioned here what type your ram is ddr2 or ddr3? We can use your RAM, your HDD, fans for cooling, grab HD6670 1 GB GDDR5 $95 as your GFX card. MB DH55TC $90, Intel core i3 540 $105 and and corsair CX600 v2 $45 I think your current HDD 250 GB is enough for decent gaming anyway HDD is most expensive these days and will be out of your budget, and this Motherbord DH55TC supports only DDR3 ram, so either you buy RAM sticks which are DDR3 or grab this AMD Phenom II X6 for $100 with Motherboard ASUS M4A89GTD for $85. So remember if you have DDR3 RAM go for Intel and if you have DDR2 got for AMD cpu with asus MB. You won't be needing more ram as you have enough for regular gaming. Hope this helps!!!
