Good multiplayer fps for my pc.

Should i buy Xbox 360 controller for my PC to improve my accuracy in FPS?

  • Hey guys I wanna know should i buy 360 controller for my PC as i am currently using mouse and keyboard for FPS games like bf3, crysis 2. I have been playing PC games since 5 years and played Prince of persia series with some cheap dual shock controller, that looks exactly like this one http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41AhHlXWnYL._SL500_AA300_.jpg.and played many FPS games with my mouse and keyboard, none with my existing controller, but now i have started playing multiplayer and it is most challenging than i expected and i am just unable to perform the way i should, i tried again and again and again, Its been many months now since i bought bf3 but but not much of an improvment in my skills. Am i doing something wrong i have no idea!!!. I have heard many reviews on xbox 360 controller and they all were tremendous. So just wanna ask a simple question, that i have never played any First person shooter with controller, So will it be comfortable for me playing FPS game with 360 controller to perform much better in MP? I appreciate all answers

It all depends upon what you're used to using for gaming. Most console peeps prefer game pads and PC peeps usually prefer a mouse and keyboard. Personally, I greatly prefer a mouse and keyboard and only use my consoles for console-only game releases. The Xbox 360 controller in particular is awkward for me because the left joystick isn't horizontally aligned with the right stick like the PS3 controller is so I'm not crazy about it. And trying to keep the reticle (crosshairs) centered on a target is difficult for me using the joysticks versus the mouse, but again, I'm a PC gamer at heart. I think you're just going to have to break down and try the Xbox 360 controller for yourself. Get it from a brick and mortar with an easy return policy if you're unsure. :)

If you want to improve accuracy then using a controller is the worst thing to do. The KB+M offers far greater accuracy and control than any game controller can. I mentioned this in another question but it's even more relevant here - when Microsoft were testing cross platform multiplayer between PC and Xbox they canned the idea after finding that the console players got destroyed EVERY SINGLE TIME. Not because they were bad at the game but because they couldn't beat the KB+M users on the PC. It's not even a case of whichever you're comfortable with, the simple fact is if you play on the PC and want to be able to keep up then you need to use the KB+M rather than a controller.
