How do I place a banner on my tumblr blog?

I've seen this kind of question has been asked before but there seem to be a lot of different answers and none of it really makes sense or applys to the theme I'm using, I don't know? So I want this image I've created to be my header on tumblr, like where you usually put the title of the page. I'm so confused how to do this, can anyone please help? Thank you so much. Oh the theme I'm using is Native Citizens by: Kent & Claire and I've created my banner on http://www.bannerfans.com/ but I'm also wondering if you can use just a normal photo or does it have to go through a site? Thanks
