My Sims 3 content won't install?

Where do I install custom content hair in the Sims 3?

• Ok, so I know that .package files go in the packages folder under mods, but does it have to go into another sub-folder? I know that custom clothing has to go in packages/skins, or is this just for Poppy Sims? If so, do you just put package files from Mod the Sims into the normal package folder, not in skins? Is there a new folder I need to create for my hair .package files?

  They can go in sub-folders if you want, but you don't have to do that. You've got to be careful because the resource file you'll have can only read a few sub folders, so if you do make them, don't go too far in with creating folders within folders, I think the maximum it can read is 5. Custom clothing doesn't have to go in Packages\Skins - there's no such file path and you don't have to create it for anything like that to work. You can create a clothing sub-folder in your packages folder if you want, but all your package files will work fine no matter what kind of content they are if they're just in the Packages folder.
