NBA: Why is Al Jefferson and Demarcus Cousin underrated?

  • I don't get it. They put up big numbers. (points, rebounds, blocks) Al Jefferson: 19.2, 9.6 and 1.7 Demarcus Cousins: 18.1, 11, 1.2 People put Javale McGee and Chandler over them but neither of those players are even better than Nene. Don't bring up FG% because Kobe shoots like 43% and is known as a legend by some people.

    Maybe one reason is because they might have good stats but they take a lot of shots and lack on defense, which is why both teams don't win games and the Jazz got swept by the Spurs Putting up big numbers don't always show what happens in the game

Demarcus Cousins is trash, he is a terrible team player he refuses to pass, always turns over the ball and is lazy on defense. Not to mention that he is a terrible shooter. I will say Jefferson is a great player and the only reason he isn't a star is because he plays for Utah, if he was in LA he would be a star.

I don't think anyone puts javale mcgee over al jefferson or Demarcus Cousins, maybe chandler because he just won defensive player of the year. Demarcus Cousins and Al Jefferson are also on bad teams, they will get more respect when the teams improve. and come on shooting guards aren't expected to have a high fg% big men are

it's probably because they aren't as athletic as McGee or Chandler. The fans want to see dunks and blocks they want to see those guys on big franchise teams. Personally I've also asked my self why players like Jefferson and Cousins get no love, but that's the way it is.

they both play for small market teams so they never get all star selections. also i know Al almost always under performs/Millsap dominates on nationally televised Games.
