How can I get special effects on my camcorder?

What Format will a Mini DV Camcorder open in?

• Hi, I have recently been posting a LOT of questions due to the fact I want to know everything about my future video camcorder, which looks like it is going to be a Sony HVR-HD1000U: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665551067 So, my question this time is to what format will this camera's footage open in? I was recommended to get Adobe Premiere to Edit in, and then Adobe After Effects to put in special effects, so I was wondering if the Mini DV footage will open the same in both programs, be compatible with both programs, and if it can upload to youtube with both programs.   I use Pinnacle Studio 14 HD ultimate, I have 3 MiniDV tape camcorders. I use my NLE to import videos from my camcorders, be they on tape or when hooked to my computer by Firewire to IEEE1394 port on my computer. When i do import the videos, they all come in .AVI format. You have told this in previous answers to previous questions. If you want to know if those programs will work with .AVI videos, check the specs for those programs. That is how the rest of the world does it.
