What should I do to become an IAS officer?

Hi. I am an IT Professional (B.Tech IT-23 yrs old) My ambition is to become an IAS officer, to serve people.?

  • My Concern is whether it is possible for me to crack IAS Exam while working in an IT company, since i have to prepare for 4-6 hrs a day. i cant quit my job & prepare, since my family depends on my salary. pls suggest some ideas for time management, and i am going to prepare for next year exam (2013) so, i request u people to suggest me some tips for preparing in the right way. i know it takes lot of hard work, perseverance to crack IAS exam... i just want ideas for preparation from working people who have succeeded in IAS Exam. i want my dream to become a reality... pls guide me...
