How can I dynamically change the height of an iFrame?

Would raising the height of a basketball hoop at the NBA level change how offensive schemes are created?

  • I got into a debate with a co-worker over this at lunch after he said that "raising the height of the hoop in the NBA would mean coaches would significantly have to change how plays are drawn up/run." I said this was wrong because: 1. Plays are designed to get players an open shot, not necessarily a dunk or easy lay-up. They are designed to get the shooter closer to the rim, where the probability of making a shot is greater (unless it's a designed 3-point shot). 2. Because the height of the rim has increased, the angle of the shot must increase (be higher), thus giving the shooter more space to shoot since he has better judgement of there the rim is compared to the defender. There were some more reasoning that was used, but this is the gist of it. If the only thing that would need to change is height/angle of release point, then redesigning offensive schemes would be unnecessary since increasing the height/shooting point favors the shooter anyway correct?

  • Answer:

I would mainly agree with you... but it'd sure be weird getting used to playing on a 11 or 12 foot goal when you've played 10 and under your whole life.
