What would you compare to a woman suddenly losing the power she had over men all those years?

  • It's often said women's looks start to fade at 30 and they suddenly don't hold the power over men they did when they were in their early 20's. Men will no longer put up with them being bitchy, because they're not as attractive. Add that a man's sex drive generally goes down at that point and these women can't really afford to act like the world should worship them for their looks. Otherwise, they're not gonna get settled for by anybody. And yes, men settle for women when they're in their 30's. Not the other way around. I compare this to Superman meeting his kryptonite (Dark Side). He was all-powerful. He could do everything and suddenly, he couldn't anymore. He just melted under pressure. Father time is a woman's kryptonite.

    What you say is TRUE. @M: Women in my family are attractive past 30 too and NONE of them are overweight. My older sister [I'm in my 40's], my mother, my aunt, my grandmother, NONE of them. So Oprah is powerless? The very unattractive Angela Merkel? Etc. Etc.? The whole good looks thing = power mostly applies to bad actors/actresses and models... although if they earn enough in their youth they'll be doing better than most. I just believe those people need to be flexible and realize good looks aren't everything even though they were able to base their careers off of them.

What about women who have been plain/average looking all their life and have never had that ability? We don't know any different, and it doesn't stop you from finding a long term relationship, you just don't get special treatment from pretty much everyone of the opposite gender. Plus, most women are hopefully married at 30 and it's time for many to start having children. As you get older your priorities change. Studies show that older people both male and female and happier than they were in their 20's.

That's a huge lie, because the women in my family are gorgeous and above 30.
