Is the General Electric stove model # JCBP63 induction or electric?
-
I want to buy a stovetop coffemaker that is commonly made with aluminum, and I heard aluminum-ware cannot be used on induction stoves. On the GE site, it says that the model # JCBP63 is electric, but I've read that electric = induction. Is that true? My stove has 4 heat placements, and slowly grows red with I turn it on (if that helps). The manual (http://www.geappliances.ca/images/english/pdfs/29-5646.pdf) says Electric Coil & Radiant, but the manual also applies to many other ranges, so I don't know which one my stove is.

Answer:
JUst read the "options"/ requirements " of the coffee pot you want to buy.Aluminium melts at a low Temp. You don't want it to contact red-hot metal. I can melt aluminium in my fry pan.Do you mean convection, conductive or?Just ask the seller and get it in writing that it will work. Aluminium alloys will work. they are mixed with other metals....alloy
