How do you use a sound equalizer?

Why do my headphones sound great listening to my PC, but awful with my iphone?

  • I have a pair of Sony MDR-ZX100 ZX Headphones. I know that they're not expensive, fancy headphones like Beats, but for me, they're more than adequate. I use them a lot while I'm listening to mp3 on my computer at work. I use winamp to listen to music and I also listen to Pandora a lot. They sound really good, deep bass....really nice range. Then when I use them to listen to the "ipod" on my iphone, or Pandora, they sound like Dollar Store headphones. I'm assuming that the cause of the poor sound is the iphone's lower power output? I've tried all the different equalizer settings on the phone, still not cutting it. Is there anything that can be done? I haven't tested the headphones on my acutal "IPOD" so I don't know how they sound there. Anyone find anything to make it sound better?

  • Answer:

Perhaps there's just a faulty connection in your iphone somewhere? Try rotating the headphone jack and putting pressure on the different sides while playing music. Perhaps it's because when you listen to your iphone you're out and about, and maybe the background noise is affecting what you're hearing? Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
