Is becoming a herbalist a good career choice?

Is becoming a mechanic a good career choice!,?

  • I still haven't graduated high school, but the question I keep on asking myself is what career to choose, then I look at my family members and try to see who's footsteps can I follow, then I found out about my grandfather who was a mechanic, I want to follow he's footsteps but before doing that I need to get advices from you guys if becoming a mechanic a good career choice? Please help. Highly appreciated and thank you!!!,

    It is a good career if you are not the "books/studying/college" type of person. Some people just aren't the type of people to ever sit in a classroom and pay attention and that's ok. It's better if you get into a specialized field though, not just generic mechanic who works on random cars. Try to get into diesel mechanic to fix Mack trucks, or motorcycle mechanic, or BMW certified mechanic. You'll make more money than a generic mechanic. You can either go to a 1-2 year school like UTI (Universal Technical Institute) or you can skip schooling and be an apprentice and learn on the job. But schooling will open more opportunities. A great thing is there will always be a need for mechanics, it can never be out sourced. If someone is broken down on the highway, they can't call China to come help them, so you'll always pretty much have a job.

its a pretty good choice. its a good skill and will get you a good honest paycheck your entire life. you won't make as much as a college graduate with a good degree in the long run, but you only go to school for two years, and you're paid while you learn the trade. that means while people in college are burying themselves in debt and going about their early 20's completely broke, you can have a steady job and afford to have fun while you're young. however, tradesmen are generally not held in as high esteem as college graduates, and you'll be seen as slightly lower in the social ladder when you're older. and again, they don't make as much further down the line. the choice is yours. they both have their perks and their flaws, you just have to decide what you really want to do.
