What is the vector diagram of a transformer?

Vector diagram problems?

  • I understand how to draw vector diagrams ie. head to to tail but in some problems where it asks for the direction you would get a different angle if i added, say, a north vector to the east vector instead of adding the east vector to the north vector or adding the head of the north to the tail of the east would be different than adding the head of the east to the tail of the north?? , both cases you will get the same magnitude but the angle would be different, is there some sort of rule to tell me which one to add to which ones tail or head?

  • Answer:

Vector math is much more complicated than straight adding single numbers you can study vectors for years and still learn something new in general "add" mean place the tail of the B, at the head of A, and measure C from A tail to B head subtract means place head to head multiply by (-1) means reverse direction do you understand "components" as well as sketching?
