How Can i prepare For a job in the Video game Industry?

I need a job in the video game industry but its so competitive what do I do?

  • Video games have always been my passion but it seems almost impossibleto get employed in that industry I live in Dallas Tx so I'm not exactly in the best area for that compared to california or seattle I just want to be a tester in a work place I don't want to test games at home I want to get my foot in the door get some experience and be part of a team I don't know if age really matters when it comes to this but I'm 24 years old and I'm hoping that wouldn't matter to them the older I get because I think might prefer kids straight out of highschool because they know the next big thing and so on but I can be extremely beneficial to the industry and bring a lot to the tableif given the chance any kind of help or advice you can give me pertaining to this would be much appreciated thank you
