Whats the difference between these planets in Gemini?
-
What's the difference between a Sun in Gemini, Mercury in Gemini, and Mars in Gemini? All are considered curious, talkative, and just communicative, but is the sun sign more the "true" Gemini? And the others just other reactions? I have a friend who is Sun in Taurus, Mercury in Gemini, and Mars in Gemini, and she feels that she identifies more with Gemini, and doesn't see how her sun is supposed to shape her life. She's into journalism, writing, and communicating (it's her life really). She's also very versatile and prefers change to constancy, even though her moon is in cancer and sun in taurus. She thinks it's a shame that her sun destiny isn't communicating. But what's the true difference between them?

Answer:
You tell your friend that she has plenty of Gemini in her chart to be a journalist, author, and a communication specialist. Please tell her that for me. Beginning to study astrology can seem overwhelming at first. I like to use a few key words for each sign and this is helpful. And also I like to use a key word for what each of the planets mean. Once you get the meanings "down" you are on your way to interpreting a natal chart. For starters I like to refer to the Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign as the Foundation of the Natal Chart. Once you understand these three things you can "build" the rest of your chart on top of The Foundation. So here we go. The Sun= Our Nature The Moon= Our Emotions The Rising = Our Personality, Personal Appearance, and First Impression. This is your Foundation to begin with and then the other planets mean: Mercury-How We Communicate Venus= How We Love Mars= How We Get What We Desire, from battles with others to the sexual desires too Astrology is the sum of many parts. And a human being is the sum of many parts too and each planet and its sign helps us describe what energies will be present when the planet and the sign are "connected." While the Sun Sign is important don't forget that the other planets are very important too. Don't focus too much on the Sun because there is often another sign that actually has a more dominant influence than just our Sun Sign. For example with the Sun/Mercury/Mars all in Gemini there will be much communicating going on as Gemini is an Air Sign which means they require intellectual conversation. Gemini is also known for their great sense of humor. And then there are those bothersome mood changes that Gemini is so well known for too. Gemini's Symbol is "The Twins" which should help us understand that changes in mood are common for one with much Gemini in the chart. Your friend has a Taurus Sun and with Gemini Mercury and Gemini Mars I don't doubt that she does feel more like a Gemini than a Taurus. (Not to mention that she will "progress" which is predictive astrology, into Gemini sometime in the first thirty years of life so her Taurus Sun could have already progressed into Gemini which then intensifies even more that Gemini Energy and overwhelms her Taurus Sun so I see WHY she feels so much more like a Gemini. Our Sun Sign contributes to our natal chart but it isn't anywhere near ALL of the energy in a natal chart as her Gemini feels stronger to her which is completely normal) Our Sun Sign only shapes our "nature." A Taurus Sun gives one a practical nature and is often a private sun sign. They love their homes and all the creature comforts too. She may be ALL of these things but still, her Dominant Influence in Gemini with her Gemini Mercury and Gemini Mars DO contribute to her desire to write, be a journalist, AND work in communications so she should GO for that. If you are familiar with Stephen Colbert, he has tons of Taurus and just a Gemini Moon and he sure has made an impact on tv with his "alter ego" of his Gemini Moon. So it is obvious that those with a Taurus Sun can be awesome working in the communication industry. Hope this is helpful and tell your friend that she can do whatever her heart desires in this lifetime so choose a career path that you love. In her case it is communications. Go for it. Follow your dreams. Good luck and bless you both and I wish you two well.
