What's the deadliest worm?

Whats this worm thing in my saltwater tank and how do i get rid of it?

  • i recently just set up a saltwater tank the other day and after i had put in some live rock i found this worm like thing crawling on the rock and the sand. i think it may be a bristle worm because it has the segments and the multpile tiny leg/hairs on the sides. are they harmful and will they kill the emerald crab i have in there? i want to add fish and corals soon but im not sure if the worms will harm them. i need help if i should leave them, take the time to remove them, or find a chemical to kill them. also i should mention that it is only a small 10 gallon tank. thanks

They are usually harmless and actually can be beneficial by eating leftover foods. There are shrimp and such that will help keep populations under control, like a coral banded shrimp. Traps can work as well if you start to have an overpopulation. Generally they don't overpopulate unless you are overfeeding though. Don't ever add chemicals in your tank to kill anything! Algaecides, pesticides, etc always have a harmful side effect and are dangerous to use in any aquarium, especially a small saltwater aquarium.

i think its becoz of the rocks it would be better if u just remove them since ur tank is small tooo
