Master degree after BE in ECE?

What are the general requirements for pursuing a master's degree, while possessing a bachelor's degree?

  • I am just about to receive my bachelor's degree. My GPA is not too bad, but i didn't finish the degree in the traditional four years. I did it in six and a half, because i was also working in between and took a semester off at one point, and took other classes to make up for failed classes and for better grades. I also have a couple F's on the transcript and a few not so good grades, though they were all received from a P/NC Basis. Would I still be eligible to get into a master's program even though my undergraduate transcript is far from perfect ? I am really interested in a master's degree but am unsure if i qualify based on my undergrad performance. Is a master's degree even worth it?

  • Answer:

Some masters programs will accept GPAs down to 2.7, others have a hard cutoff at 3.0. It really depends on the field. Also consider whether or not a masters is likely to make you any more money than a bachelors. Not all masters make you more employable.

Depends on the degree and the college. Some collegs require you take the GMAT. Some degree don't. Decide the kind of degree you want and then do the research about the colleges that offer it.
