What's the cost of swapping a 3 speed auto transmission in a 2002 Toyota corolla for a 4 speed auto?

Probably more than the car is worth if done by a professional mechanic. The only way to get an accurate price is to ask. I'll note that they may not even be able to quote you because that is more of a semi-custom project than a repair. What I can tell you is that it is possible. The 3spd auto was only in the CE model in 2002 but the LE did have a 4spd auto behind the same engine. What makes it so difficult is that you would probably need the entire transaxle and the computer from another car. A lot easier, and cheaper, to sell your car and buy what you are attempting to make.
