How do I start a career without experience?

How do I start an acting career but with no experience?

  • I'm 13 going 14 soon and I would love to pursue my dream of being an actor but I didn't take it seriously til I turned 13 when I went to see my friend at her acting performance and I really wanted to do what she was doing but I haven't been able to work on my acting because I had knee surgery and had a long recovery. I would really want to start doing some kind of acting but I don't know where to start? Should I go to acting classes? Do performing arts? Join my school drama? I found this summer camp that's like an acting camp should I join it and get some experience or ...? I've heard it's pretty hard to get a talent agent... what do they look for? what do you need to get an agent? Also, I live in Orlando, FL if that helps... Any suggestions or help I appreciate... :)

    Everyone starts as a beginner! Don't listen to people who say you'll never book anything w/o experience, because it just depends. Someone WILL eventually give you your big break. Start with training. Actually, there's an acting camp in FL this summer. It's called NY Film Academy. If you wanna start acting now, get into some classes or go to a summer camp for acting. To act professionally, you'll need headshots, bodyshots, experience/resume, and a work permit. You usually send your resume, headshot, and coverletter ("thanks for you time....this is why I'm interested in your agency...etc),

I'm sorry- I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear- but you need experience to gain a career. You probably have theaters in your area. Those are great places to get started. Audition there, and you'll gain the invaluable experience you need. Lessons will also help. There's no guarantee, but if you really do want it, this is a great step.

There is no way u can be given a job with no experience. U need to do all those things u listed. Except the performing arts school, that's not necessary unless u just want to.
