How to get more motivated?

How to get myself motivated?

  • Ok so I have very serious problems with getting myself motivated. When my alarm clock rings in the morning, I won`t get up. I stay in bed and end up sleeping in. I also can`t get motivated to clean my room (I have gotten better). My room isn`t extremly messy but could use some tidying up. Also, I can NEVER get motivated to practice my trumpet. I end up leaving practice until the last day and then I have to do 80 minutes of practice in one day. Any tips on how I can improve?? (Especially in waking up and practicing) Thanks!! I`m asking this again to get more answers

Well, no motivation can mean you're depressed. You can see a doctor about that. You'll probably want a therapist, too. However, in the mean time..... Can you do something for 15 seconds? Sure you can. Everyone can. So. Day 1: That alarm rings. Go ahead and hit snooze button. Then (and this is essential!) get out of bed and walk away from your bed for 15 seconds. Day 2: Alarm rings, hit snooze. Walk for 15 seconds - twice. Then, brush your teeth for 15 seconds. Go back to bed if you want to after that. But, only stay there for 15 seconds. Day's 3 to 10: Keep adding 15 increments seconds to your walk, to your cleaning, to your practicing, etc. Keep adding 15 second increments to what you do. Cleaning your room? Clean for 15 seconds. Then do it again. You can do it every day. It sounds stupid, I know, but it works. Just do something for 15 seconds. You'll find that everytime you do it, you'll end up adding more time to your "workouts" because it might take you a little longer than 15 seconds to get your bed made. (you might only get the pillow straight and the blanket pulled up to the pillow the first day..... :) I was lucky if I made it that far. Practicing your trumpet is more fun. It sometimes takes 15 seconds to get your music out. Then 15 seconds. Or, if you prefer, 15 bars. You will want to finish the piece (song) before too long. Go for it!! Good luck!!!!

I have been in high school band many years ago.If you don't want to practice there will always be someone better in line.Like bands played on the radio, all have unique sound. It's not motivation that you need.Eyes need to be opened ,right now.I don't read my bible every day,but still go to church. You may find a little research on some horn players in history to read about.A favorite band may have a trumpet player,or talk show host have them.Play 2 notes today then 3 notes the next. Then you might have a song of your own to toot.I would keep a journal of when I went to bed and then one when you actually woke up and another space for when you wanted to sleep in .See how time is managed, and save time you will have also.
