What are the requirements for a degree in fine arts?

Will an Associate of Arts degree suffice for HS diploma requirements for entering the Coast Guard?

• I am currently 17 years of age. I want to enter the coast guard as soon as I finish my AA degree at my local community college. My local high school has a program where they are paying for my degree. So I originally decided to ditch a diploma for a two year degree. I have wanted to be in the coast guard for about 7 years growing up on the coast. From the research I have done it seems as though a high school diploma is either required or is highly recommended if you want a chance of being accepted. But its seems logical that a college degree would meet those academic requirements. Any helpful information would be appreciated. Thanks,

  15 college credits + GED = HS diploma, as far as military enlistment goes. That said, what you are considering is incredibly dumb. Even if you can indeed get into the military without a diploma, the lack of that piece of paper is going to hurt you badly in life. You'll be forever disadvantaged for jobs, for everything. Even if you stay in the military 30 years (which is the maximum), you'd only be ~48 when you got out and would still need to get a job afterwards. While a military retirement is nothing to scoff at, it is seldom enough to never work again. No one is going to be impressed by an Associate of Arts from a community college and no diploma. Get your diploma now. You're obviously not dumb if you can handle college classes. You're still young. The Coast Guard will still be there when you're done with your HS diploma. Good luck!
