How does solar energy create power for us to use?

What type of energy do coal burning power plants use to create steam to operate their turbines?

  • Answer:

Burning of coal is source of heat. Boiler: highly purified water pumped through pipes inside the boiler is turned into steam by the heat. At temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit & under pressures up to 3,500 lbs per square inch, the steam is piped to the turbine. Turbine/Generator: the pressure of steam pushing against a series of giant turbine blades turns turbine shaft. Turbine shaft is connected to shaft of the generator, where magnets spin within wire coils to produce electricity.
