  • Answer:

If you were really any good, and if civil engineers from India were really in demand, you would have a job lined up prior to entry to Australia. However, Indian engineering is a worldwide joke (yes, there's even a pass-along email titled "Indian Engineering," complete with photos of collapsing "showpiece" World Cup building collapsing, etc- hysterically funny!). Your chances of getting a job in Oz, etc, are poor. No you cannot work part-time in Australia and survive. You cannot tend bar without bartenders' training. Only Indian restaurants hire Indian waiters - but those Indian owners will screw you out of your pay. Even if you find such low-wage jobs, you cannot live on that little bit of money from a part-time job! While wages might sound higher compared to Indian rates, you neglect to deduct taxes from gross, and calculate the difference in cost of living!
