Can i get kicked out of duke of edinburgh for this ?

im 15 and i go to a boarding school, last weekend on sunday me and some friends made a small fire using some cardboard and matches we found. a teacher caught us and we where shouted at. but now ive been told that they cant trust me and i wont be alowed to Participate in duke of edinburgh. me and my friends think its really harsh to link it to d of e, ive already brought all the kit and done all the work towards it.
