What is a working schedule like for Walmart?

• I am going to be working at a wholesale club, kind of like a supermarket like Walmart. Anyways, they hired me as a conditional employee, which is basically a 30 day orientation period, you know when they don't need a reason to fire you?. Today they called me for the actual job orientation tomorrow. They said bring the things I needed and expect to be there for 4-5 hours. What should I wear? And it would be insane for me if they put me on call, I have no idea how they're planning on what days they are letting me work. I have no idea if I am on a schedule... the first job I had they kept me on call for the longest time and it sucked because I wasn't there to make it there because I don't have a car so I need to know in advance. So will my employer put me on a schedule? What should I wear?

  Your post is a little confusing just as it seems you might be. First of all you are not on a 30 day "orientation", you are on probation. Almost all employees no matter where you work are hired and either on a 30 to 90 day probation and depending on what state you live in, an employer can fire you "at will" (when ever they want or need to) even after your probation. I don't know if you are male or female, but considering where you'll be working maybe where a pair of khaki/tan pants, solid polo type shirt or clean/pressed button up shirt. Basically, look clean, pressed and sharp going in, you don't have to get dressed up just make sure your pants and shirt are clean and ironed....make a good impression. All of those questions you have regarding scheduling....ask when you are in there. Remember you don't have to work there, it's your choice too.
