How do I import contacts from one e-mail address to another?

When I import contacts from Excel into Outlook 2010, it thinks each contact value is its own contact. Help!?

  • Each of the values of the contact have their own Named Range (eg "Company Name," "Company Address," "Email," and so on). Now when I import the contacts, it doesn't automatically group together the values that make up each contact. It will think the Company Name "XYZ, LLC" is the only value for one contact, and then the address for XYZ, LLC is another contact. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Answer:

You could try to save the excel as a CSV (comma delimited) file. Then import the CSV file into Outlook. When importing select the "map custom fields" to map the field names to the expected names that Outlook is looking for.

Other answers

You may have better success if you export the contacts from Excel as a Comma Separated Values file (CSV) then import that value into outlook.
