How do I fix this MSVCR71.dll problem?

  • I've just downloaded a game and when I try to play it a message pops up saying: "The program can't start because MSVCR7.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." What's the simplest solution for this? Thanks for the help in advance. I asked this question about 40 minutes ago and I tried the following solutions to no avail: - Downloading and extracting the MSVCR71.dll zip into the folder with the game. - Reinstalling. Any other possible solutions??

    your computer is not compatible for the game or it could be your running a downgraded computer thats running incompatible fireware....whats downgraded mean?..it means youve installed xp on a computer thats built for vista and 7
