Will i get full custody of my daughter?

How do get full custody of my daughter, I am the mother and we are currently on week by week schedule?

  • My daughter is 7 months old and I really don't feel comfortable with her dad having her for a full week with out seeing me at all, he works nights (3pm-12am) so he can't put her in daycare so he lets people watch her and wont let me meet the people who are watching her, so I am trying to get full custody of her where he can only see her on weekends, how do I do this? I live in Texas.

    You will have to get legal advice. Is this arrangement something you both chose or did the courts choose? If you both chose you can go to court and have a court order custody, otherwise you would have to go to court to get the order changed. Another thing you can do is tell him to let you meet people who will be looking after your child and if you don't like them for whatever sensible reason offer to find someone yourself. Or negotiate with him that the week he has her she brings her to you while he is at work. If thats at all possible. Try working with him and negotiating first because I grew up in family law court and it can get really really messy. Good luck and I hope I helped.

As long as the dad is willing it is going to be difficult to change if the ruling was done by the child court. Circumstances may have changed since the original agreement so the only thing you can really do is to approach the court again.

In NC they don't do week to week. The dad gets them on the weekend. I know he wouldn't place her somewhere where she isn't safe. He seems like he's a good dad. Most dads nowadays, don't even want to see their kid and your gonna try and tale her away from him!?? Wow, that's being very selfish!! When you laid down with this man, you knew you could get pregnant so he's apart of your daughters life whether you like it or not. A judge will agree with me on this! He's got a job, he actually WANTS to take up time with his daughter and that's not enough for you!! I know that's your babygirl and all but he has rights to. I hate it when parents put their kids thru this. Do you know how bad I wish my daughters father was in her life!? A daughter needs her father!! I know its hard but he seems to be a really good dad. I would appreciate his efforts. Talk this over with him about your concerns but definitely don't tale his rights away from him!!!
