How to get myself motivated?

  • Ok so I have very serious problems with getting myslef motivated. When my alarm clock rings in the morning, I won`t get up. I stay in bed and end up sleeping in. I also can`t get motivated to clean my room (I have gotten better). My room isn`t extremly messy but could use some tidying up. Also, I can NEVER get motivated to practice my trumpet. I end up leaving practice until the last day and then I have to do 80 minutes of practice in one day. Any tips on how I can improve?? (Especially in waking up and practicing) Thanks!! I`m asking this again to get more answers

    What I do when I`m waking up, is set two alarms. One for ten minutes earlier than I need to wake up and one for the actual time. The other thing that really helps me a lot is to put the alarm away from my bed, like on the other side of the room. That way I can`t turn it off while I`m half asleep. I actually have to get up and walk across the room if I want to shut the alarm off. Making schedules that are reasonable for you can help to get motivated. Write it down because it just makes it feel more definite, and break the work into smaller pieces so that it doesn`t feel so stressful. For example, instead of writing down 7PM Monday- clean room, break it into dusting, vacuuming, putting away clothes, putting away DVD`s, etc. all on separate days. This way it`s only a few minutes of work and it isn`t as daunting to get started.

If you don't like the trumpet, then switch to a different instrument. If you did like it, then you would practice because you would wish to get better. Maybe it just isn't for you. I definitely have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning as well, but just think that if you sleep in too late.. then you will miss out on alot of good things in life. ( some of the best tv talk shows are on in the morning ! hehe ) You can't be motivated to do something if you don't like to do it, it's that simple. Find other ways to keep your room clean. Have a sibling clean it and pay them.. just keep in mind that there are some things in life that you will have to do even if you don't want to do them! It's just how life is. :)

Plan to do something every morning, maybe wake up early and jog or drink coffee. Try going to bed where you can get 8 hours a sleep. Make sure not to eat to much or little because that can mess with your energy levels. When you clean your room typically you wanna focus on trying to fit everthing into smaller space so even if you have just a little mess on your dresser it is easier to leave clothes/stuff on the floor where as you have a couple things on the floor then clean them right then. Make a time a day where you practice for 20-30 minutes
