Is there anyway to make an iphone more durable?

Is there a cheaper alternative to a Mac (to make iPhone apps)?

  • Okay, I wanted to make iPhone apps on my PC.. But everyone says that I have to have a Mac.  Yeah, even with the few programs that will let me do it on my Windows PC (I have Windows Vista),  everyone says it would be much easier and faster and reliable on a Mac.    Well first of all, I don't have a Mac of course and I don't have the money to buy one.  But I heard of this thing called a Mac Mini..  (Sorry im not Mac savvy at all, I've only had experience with Windows lol). Anyway, I just want to know, can I just like buy the Mac Mini and hook it up to my PC (Windows Vista) and then my computer will work like a Mac does?  And will i be able to make my iPhone apps on it from my PC and of course upload them to the app store / Cydia and all that?  See All I want to do is just make iPhone apps but I'm not going to go buy an expensive Mac..  But, if there *is* a program that can run on Windows that is actually reliable (like wont hold back anything) that lets me make iPhone apps of course I would totally be down with that.   So yeah, will a Mac Mini just hook up to my PC and let me use it like a Mac?  See, cause I don't want to pay so much for a Mac because I don't even like macs, but I would like to use a cheaper alternative just so I can make iPhone apps and maybe sell them.  Thanks. (:

  • Answer:

A Mac Mini is just a Macintosh without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. You could get one, plug in your existing three things and you'd be running a Mac. Nothing to do with your PC. However, you should look at Illumination Software Creator from Radical Breeze. Get the Windows version and it will let you create apps for other platforms, like the Mac and the iPhone. Exactly what you need. In order do that cross-platform app creation, you'll need the Deluxe Edition, which is $50. Probably worth it. It really is the easiest way to do what you want. And WAY cheaper than a Mini.

You can get VMWare Fusion, then download an image like this http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7097084/Mac_OS_X_Lion_10.7.3_VMware_Image And run Mac in Windows. Or you can install Mac OS X using hackintosh, but that's very complicated (and difficult) I hate macs too.
